Approaching 33 weeks…

Posted by seowwen on Oct 19, 2009 in Num2 |

It was like yesterday when we found out about the pregnancy but I am gonna be 33 weeks already!
All my plans of wanting to take a photo a week of the bump never did materialised… I just hope that I would get around to taking some pregnancy shots before I pop…

28weeks
Num2 at 28++ weeks…
Obgyn was doing the ultrasound, when Num2 suddenly opened the mouth and (prolly) YAWN so widely… We were all laughing…

Total weight gain : 13kg

My pregnancy rash which was disturbing my sleep in the 2nd trimester, is currently under control…
It was SO itchy that I would wake every single night, and I have rashes ALL over my body (EVERYWHERE!)… Obgyn confirmed it to be pregnancy rash, and his ointment did not help… So we went to a dermatologist, and well, it healed the rashes a bit, from bright red itchy spots to blackish scars now, and hopefully it will go off soon… The itchiness is still disturbing, but at least I can have better sleep at night, and it’s very localised, like only to the spot where there are new small bumps creeping out…

However, this pregnancy has proven itself to be much harder than the one before (I cross my fingers hoping that it doesn’t mean the baby is more difficult), and as soon as I hit 3rd trimester, I started having occasional morning sickness on certain days, and I’ll vomit and have heartburn the rest of the day…

Doesn’t help either, that the last 2 visit to the obgyn was emergency ones…
First being there was some traces of blood in the discharge, and just to be on the safe side, I just had to get it checked… Everything is OK, except that obgyn commented that “the placenta is a little lowish, but you can still TRY for natural birth”… My thoughts were, TRY only ar? Lets see how cooperative Num2 would be…

Second was when I didn’t feel baby’s movement for the whole night and morning, and when I called in to ask obgyn for his opinion, was told to go in for a check, just to be sure, as no movement is of a little concern, especially after the first episode… For the first time, Num2 doesn’t move at all under the ultrasound scanning, that obgyn had to keep tapping on my tummy to try to stimulate movement, so he ordered a CTG… Num2 then decided to move non-stop in the one hour of CTG monitoring…

I think it’s just Num2′s way of trying to get some attention, as before the 2 episodes in the early 3rd trimester, we haven’t done ANYTHING in preparation for her arrival… So different compared to when I was pregnant with Rachel, where I was knitting a receiving blanket, and was all packed (just in case of prematured arrival) as soon as I hit 7 months…

Anyway, 52 (or so) more days to go, lets hope everything will be smooth sailing… ;)

I had that itchy rashes when I was pregnant with my daughter. It also happened when reached abt 6mths+…I used the “snake” talcum powder (i.e St Lukes’, I think)…I dampen my tummy with a bit of water then put the powder…as it is cooling, the itchiness will ease…doctor’s ointment didnt work for me too….
