Kid says the DARNEST thing…

Posted on Jul 31, 2009 in Rachel Talk

In my attempt to try to reassure her that we will not leave her alone (to prep her for school) and we won’t want to lose her (as she was afraid that we would leave her with other people)…

ME : Rachel, even when you are naughty, mommy still love you LOTS… OK?
Rachel : I love you too…
ME : We will NEVER leave you with people we don’t trust, and we will NEVER not pick you up… We cannot afford to lose Rachel also… Daddy and mommy won’t want to lose Rachel, we only have one and only one Rachel…
Rachel : NO! Got more Rachel…
ME : Where?
(Rachel walks over to our full length mirror)…
Rachel : There! Got TWO Rachel… ONE (pointed to the mirror reflection)… TWO (pointed to herself)… HELO Rachel (and waved to her reflection)
(Both Tecky and I couldn’t help but laughed, and Rachel laughed too)…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tecky left his T-shirt on the bed when he went for shower… The cheeky little girl tried to play a trick on the father, and hid the T-shirt under Tecky’s pillow… When Tecky came out from the shower, she quickly jumped and sat on the pillow…
Tecky : Rachel, did you see my T-shirt? (knowing very well that she took it)
Rachel : NO! (laughing)
Tecky : Did you hide my T-shirt?
Rachel : No…
Tecky : Then why are you sitting on my pillow?
Rachel : To hide your T-shirt…
(to which she instantly looked at me wide eyed, and laughing – like giving me a OOPPPSSSS look)…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She talks about MAHNEY too…
My uncle was over, playing with Rachel and were ‘fighting’ over a throw pillow…

Uncle : Give this one to SukGong (granduncle in Hakka) lar…
Rachel : Give you then I don’t have liao…
Uncle : Then SukGong don’t have also wor…
In my attempt to help, I told Rachel to promise to buy one for her SukGong next time…
Rachel : SukGong, give me back. Next time you go buy another one OK?
Me : You buy for SukGong, not SukGong buy…
Rachel : SukGong… I buy, use your money ok?
Uncle : But I got no money wor… You have money?
Rachel : I got money in bank, but my money to buy toy and to buy BahKutTeh for AhGong (grandfather)… So cannot buy pillow…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s a lot more which I have forgotten (thanks to my procrastination), but it’s just simply lovely being around her… She can’t stop saying she’s a big girl now, that she’s baby’s CheChe, and when baby come out from my womb, she’ll help baby and she’ll teach baby… But well, as always, she still insists that she wants a baby girl, because she wants the baby to be same as her… :)
p/s : Please forgive the delay of the photos below… It was taken during Mother’s Day (OMG) 2009… I don’t know what made me wait so long, but I just still need to upload it, for keepsake purpose… ;)
Her attempt of hiding the flower so I couldn’t see it…
She said “happy birthday” instead, and then when we laughed, felt ashamed and then slowly struggled to say “Happy mother’s day”…
Photography : Lynette’s Pregnancy…
Posted on Jul 30, 2009 in Photography
These photos were taken on 11th April 2009!
A whole 3.5 months ago! OMG!!!
dsc_5584
Imagine, Baby Jude has already popped, and I still have yet to give Lynette (whom is my SIL’s elder sister) the full set of the photos… I’ve given her a small subset of the pics, but have yet to burn the whole set to pass it over…
p/s : Blame the morning sickness (which causes delay in the photo processing) and laziness from everything (for passing and posting the pics late)…
dsc_0465
She agreed to be our guinea pig to try out pregnancy photography, and being the beginner we are, we didn’t quite know what to do… It was more of shoot, chat, talk, laugh… But in summary, I did terribly… I forgot to check the setting of my camera, and was shooting everything way over the required ISO… I must say, I hope Lynette and Chris don’t see the day as a total waste of time… Thanks guys, for your willingness to come and spend the morning with us… :D
Colours VERY off (due to my wrong setting), but I like this photo…
Too bad I screw up… :(
Chris, Lynette and little Manfred…
Manfred was offering me his lollipop…
I must say : I think I enjoy taking photos of toddlers more…
NOTE : Photos are jumbled up, some were taken by Tecky, and some by me…
Erm, too long ago liao, don’t ask me which is mine and which is his OK? ;)
Rachel’s Milk – Improved…
Posted on Jul 22, 2009 in Advertorial, Blogging, General, Parenting, Rachel Huan
If you are a parent like us, with a kid that is refusing food (except junk food, raisins and sugus), then you’ll understand our determination in giving Rachel the best milk formula there is in the market… How do I define ‘best’? Well, firstly would be the pediatrician’s recommendation (in our case, my aunt’s recommendation), whether Rachel accepts the milk or not, and then there is the research and innovation from the brand, to consistently improve and provide us with better product from the researches that they have done…
Hasn’t milk formula come a long way? From what we drank as a child, to what we are providing the kids now? Truthfully, would you consider giving your kid the kind of milk powder we had as a kid? Minus the DHA and all? I know I won’t… I’ve said it before, and I’m going to say it again, haven’t we hear enough people saying how kids nowadays are smarter than the previous generation? I’m very sure milk powder got a big role to play in it…
Parenting, such a tough job isn’t it? Always wondering if we are providing them the best, always surfing the internet for more information on how to help with their development and how to best bring them up… I hear myself saying all the time, I’d rather be the one that’s sick, than for Rachel to be sick… So what do I do? I give her supplements and vitamins, to help boost her immune system… Wouldn’t we go all our way out to give them the extra boost of immune system so they don’t get sick as often?
meadjohnson-7s Well, thanks to MeadJohnson’s new launch of Enfagrow A+ and Enfakid A+ with 4x DHA and the new Triple Protection Guard, I can rest assure that Rachel is the nutrients to support and boost her body resistance.
Why TRIPLE protection?
It’s for the 3 main important aspects comprising of Respiratory System, Digestive System and Resistance to other common illnesses. This adds up to our reason of choosing Enfagrow A+ as Rachel’s trusted milk, which has the highest level of DHA in the market, as I have mentioned before.
It’s about the right time also, this launch, for me to get Rachel ready for school… Well, at least her immune system… Everyone been telling me, how she’ll fall sick more often when she goes to school, with all the mingling with other kids, and then she’ll have to skip classes and then would be having difficulties catching up later on… So with the extra protection she’s getting from her milk, I guess she don’t have to skip so many classes when the time comes, and she’ll do just fine catching up…
Now, when should I send her to school? hmm… ;)
