Long weekend, OVER! :(

That’s right…
The LONG awaited 4 days weekend just zoomed by like a rocket… It was a total drag having to go back to work, for me, for Tecky and especially for little Rachel… When I told her we need to go back to work, she just sulked and asked ‘WHY?! Holiday no more liao?’… Breaks the heart even more doesn’t it?

So, the long weekend… What have we done?
I was supposed to process the photos taken on our last family trip to Tioman (that was 4th-6th July! IMAGINE!!!) but didn’t even get near to it at all… I wonder how long I’ll be procrastinating those pics… So what did we do?

1) WE UPGRADED THE CAMERA – again!
That’s right, we got ourselves a new toy… Absolutely loving the new toy to the max… We paid RM2k++ from our own money (which was from the excess payment from settling our apartment’s homeloan) and selling our d80 and sold the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 and some sponsoring from 4D *wink* (not ours but FIL’s)… What did we get??? A BOO-ti-ful full frame d700!

(at ISO1600 mind you!)

2) Raya…
We got Rachel a baju kurung from Jusco (at RM39.90, only to be told it was on 50% the day after we got it) and visited her friend Irfan (in his grandparents’) with her other friend, Naomi… It was lotsa shouting and fun for the kiddos the whole afternoon, and lotsa extremely YUMMYLICIOUS food (cooked by Nadia’s mom – with Nadia’s help I was told)… The much heard of tomato rice, rendang, roti jala… *slurp*

She was funny with her kurung, since it was the first time she’s wearing it… When we were trying it, she was staring at me and said “Mommy, the skirt too long lar!!” but was perfectly happy wearing it the whole of 1st day Raya – just not too ladylike, and erm, can see her panties sometimes… hahaha…

Wanted to take one with Irfan having a girl on each side, but not easy trying to persuade 3 x 3 years old wey…

3) Water colour and crayons – FINALLY!
I’ve been wanting to let her paint for a long long time, and only gotten around doing it now… She was very excited when we were at Populars bookstore getting the water colours and crayons, and was very careful with not messing everything up… Of course, the drawing was with LOTSA supervision, as she’s a little scared that she’ll draw the ‘wrong thing’, so kept asking us to guide her, but it turned out well…

Kiddos Playdate…

Posted on Jul 17, 2008 in Rachel Huan, Weekends

Creating opportunity for them to mingle with their peers and for us to take some photos, we met up with Nadia and Ira in Taman Jaya Park last Saturday… I don’t know if the adults actually had more fun than the kiddos, but there sure ought to be many cheering moments… Good thing that though it looked as though it was going to rain, but it did not…

Rachel as usual, was a cold character when there are people around that she’s not familiar with, and especially since we rarely bring her to any parks, it was an ‘alien’ place to her… So unlike Irfan whom were running around like it was his second home… Seriously, like I told Nadia, it’s really about time I start to bring Rachel to the park more… hahaha… Maybe for our second playdate? :D

Wasted I didn’t focus accurately…

Don’t they look like they were actually dating? hahaha…

Don’t be fooled… Tecky was actually carrying her…

Then it was CRABBING hour at dinner, which, needless to say, isn’t pictured in the post as we were all too busy eating… This was also where, according to Tecky (since he took both of them to the fish tanks), Rachel and Irfan were ‘communicating’ where they were telling each other what they were looking at (FISH vs. BIG FISH)… And also where both of them lost their first kiss (to a peers), ON THE LIPS and IN FRONT of their parents!!! hahaha…

Weekend came and went…

Posted on Apr 22, 2008 in Rachel Huan, Weekends

I just can’t stop complaining about how short the weekend is, how slow it is to come and how fast it just seem to slip away… It seems that an extra person is having the same sentiment as me lately… For the past few Mondays, little Rachel has been showing the same reluctance… Me being reluctant to go work, and her kept saying no to us going to work… She fussed a little yesterday, while being too sleepy since she slept late on Sunday, wanted to hug on to my neck and kept saying NO! How I wish I could stay at home…

It was a nice weekend, though busy…

Tecky wanted to wash his new car, still “hangat tahi ayam” so need to keep it squeaky clean, while we had to come up with things to keep Rachel entertained… What do we do? The below picture says it all…

Daddy = Wash car
Baby = Play in pool
Mommy = Take pic

I like how vibrant the color looks…
The weird thing is, it was taken under FLASH WB at bright daylight… :D

This isn’t that interesting, but here’s a show of the new pool we bought, so that we don’t have to waste too much water filling up the 6ft pool for a small 12kg toddler… haha…

We had the luxury of getting up to a slow Sunday, lazing around on bed, playing balls and counting… Tecky got Rachel interested in throwing her small balls towards the wall and see it bounce back… And to add some educational element to it, got her to count from 1 to 10 before she could throw the ball… She’ll insist that we each have a ball, all lie down on the bolster and facing the wall, count to 10 and get all to throw at the same time… It was fun to just do nothing and let time pass…

So fierce meh? Smile a bit lar…

That’s MUCH better…
